BIG mail by Lycos

on 8-07-2006 in Internet

Lycos just introduced their new email service called Lycos Email Beta. Currently, it’s the only free web mail service to offer 3 GB of free storage, and ability to share unlimited size file attachments. Until now, Gmail was offering the largest amount of storage at 2 GB.

There are some limitations however. You have to log in once every 30 days in order to keep your email account active and there is no POP access unless you upgrade to a paid version. Do the cons outway the pros? That’s up to you.. I guess it depends on what’s most important to you. If web-access email with 3 GB capacity is something you’ve been day-dreaming about, then perhaps Lycos’ new offering will suit you to a T.

As the email competitors keep at it, I’m sure this won’t be the last of the “Big mail” announcements to hit.
