I’ve been an Aviary user for a few years. Their in-browser photo editing apps were very user-friendly, fun, free, and now they are available for the mobile devices too. When I got this email, I jumped on over to Google Play to check it out. The Aviary Android app works well on my Droid phone. So well, I’ve been taking lots of random photos, just to see how they look with assorted enhancements and effects. Take this hallway photo for example:

Honestly, my digital camera has been collecting dust lately, with all the fun photo apps there are out there. I’ve used Instagram, Photoshop Express, Cymera, Afterfocus, Camera360 and now Aviary. I seem to use Instagram and Aviary the most. I like that they make it easy to share on my social networks and blogs too. It’s just fun stuff and for the social photography like me, who likes to snap up photos of my family, pets, and life events to record and share – the mobile camera and apps are working out just fine.
The Aviary mobile app is free and comes with a couple of default filters. If you want more, like “Grunge”, “Nostalgia” or stickers there is a small fee of 99 cents. I went ahead and bought them.. it’s 99 cents after all. So now, I’m off to shoot some more pictures to play with. Hope you do too!
