Plant and Krauss Raising Sand
I love music. I don't normally post too much music stuff here though, but I'm drawn to post a word about Raising Sand today.
I've been enjoying this new album so much. It's title is Raising Sand and it's artists are Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. I know you might be thinking... Robert Plant.. Led Zeppelin... hmm.., but this is nothing like the hard-rocking Zeppelin music I remember, believe me. Plant sings in low, soft tones and Strauss' bluegrass background is done soft and sexy and it makes for a totally unique sound. Each track has it's own individual appeal in fact.. sometimes folksy, sometimes bluesy, then «Gone, Gone, Gone» plays and you're hearing something totally different.. Then, Plant's solo vocals in Nothin' is somethin' amazing!
My new favorite album of the moment.. there are so many songs on this album I enjoy. Killing the Blues, Fortune Teller and Please read the letter are definitely tops on my list. I have Rich Woman playing on my myspace page. Also on my myspace is the video of the making of the album. Check out the Making of Raising Sand which includes great info from Plant and Krauss themselves, as well mixture of short teasers from their fab creation. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am. If you have the CD, I'd love to hear your comments.
