Since 2007, there have been some major updates to the Artweaver design software which now includes a new “Plus” version. I still use the free version myself. Artweaver now displays more support via their helpful FAQ and new forums, as well as free tools and plugins – all offered on the main site artweaver.de. Also, since my original Artweaver post; I’ve seen many more Artweaver tutorials pop up online. There’s a small collection of video tutorials, like the one below and several posted at DeviantArt.

Over the years, I’ve received a lot of questions about Artweaver’s tools and how to do certain techniques. I try to answer each question individually, or at least post a reply in the comments section. I do plan to continue teaching design and will post helpful Artweaver tutorials and links when I have the time. Blogger gives you a nice selection of themes to choose from, to get your new site going. But, it’s the same selection that thousands of other people are choosing from that very moment as well. It’s nice to get in on a bit more variety, right? Right! So, here are some of my favorite free blogger themes (or skins as they are sometimes referred) sites. Once you’ve found one you want to try out, scroll down here for a simple “how-to” so you can try it out.

eBlogTemplates:
This site requires a quick registration, but then you have access to their free blogger download links. These are some of the best, quality templates I’ve found. They offer wordpress templates as well.

FinalSense: I like final sense because the blogger themes are easy to browse with the categories they set up, like “2-column”, “3-column”, “Animals”, “Country/City” and many more. The “Demo” link is a little slow because it shuffles through an ad first, but by just clicking on the image you like, then the title of the theme below it, you are good to go! This site provides you with an XML code, instead of a file download. For “how-to” on this code, see directions below.

InstantShift: One of my favorites sites, of course they have a post capturing the top blogger themes of 2009! 120 of them to be exact!

Directions on How to install new templates: (don’t worry, it’s easy!)

If you are working with an XML File:
• First, unpack (unzip) the XML file you just downloaded
• Log into blogger
• Click on “Layout”
• Click on “Edit HTML”
• Click “Download Full Template” in case you need to retrieve it later. It’s your backup
• Click on “Choose File”
• Locate your new theme file and “open”
• Click on “Upload”
• Save

If you are working with an XML Code:
• Select (Ctrl+a) all code and Copy (Ctrl+c)
• Log into blogger
• Click on “Layout”
• Click on “Edit HTML”
• Click “Download Full Template” in case you need to retrieve it later. It’s your backup
• In big box of Code, right-click and “Select All” (or Ctrl+a) and Paste (Ctrl+v)
• Save

The last step is to, of course, enjoy!

1. The first step is to log into your cPanel account

2. In the “Mail” section, click on “Email Accounts”

3. If you are hosting more than one domain, select the domain you are setting up the new email for, then click “go”

4. In the “Email” text box, enter the username of your new email address

5. In the “Password” text box, enter the password of your new email address

6. If you choose, you can specify a quota (in megabytes) “Mailbox quota” text box. You can also leave it set as default 10.

7. Click on the “Create” button.

You should now see your new email account listed in the Current Accounts section.

You can click on the “Web Mail” link to access your email; there will probably be a few options to choose from. You can use the program that appeals to you the most. You can continue to use web mail, or, you can download your email into a program such as Outlook.

There are advantages to both. For instance, if you choose to use web mail, you will be able to access your mail from any computer, as long as there is an internet connection. If you download your mail into Outlook, once it’s downloaded, you can read it without being connected to the internet.

There are alternatives to creating a new email. For instance, you can use email forwarding, and have your emails sent to your current email. However, the email address that you have the mail forwarded to will be the email address that shows in the “from” section on your replies.

Mail: Click on mail to add email accounts, access web mail, manage email forwarding and more.

Add-on Domains: If you plan to host more than one domain, this is where you add them.

Error Pages: This feature lets you customize the error pages your visitor sees. By customizing them and adding links to active pages, you will retain more visitors.

Redirects: This is a great tool for creating redirects, quickly and easily. When you type in a redirect, your visitor is automatically forwarded to a new page. Many affiliate marketers use redirects for their affiliate links.


Click on “Redirects”; in the first text box, enter the name of the page you want your visitors to type in. In the second text box, enter the URL of the page you want your visitors sent to (such as your affiliate link).

FrontPage Extensions: If you use FrontPage to create and edit your web pages, you can publish them directly from the same program. Click on this icon to enable your FrontPage extensions.

Stats: This tool will tell you everything you wanted to know about who is visiting your site. You can find out how many unique visitors are coming to your site, how many pages they are viewing, the pages that they enter and exit your site from, their IP addresses and more.

Extras: cPanel comes with a host of other extras, such as creating back-ups, blogs, bulletin boards, and more. Explore the icons and learn as much as you can. The more you know about what cPanel has to offer, the more you will be able to do with your web site.

ClickBank has a few rules about what kind of products you can add. For example, your products must be delivered digitally. This can happen through web pages, email, etc. You can also offer shipment of supplemental materials such as books, CD’s, and DVD’s. You can visit ClickBank’s website for further clarification of their rules and policies.

Your first step is to set up a publisher account.

Your next step is to create a “Publisher’s Pitch Page”
* This is the page where you describe your product. You’ll need to include a link for customers to complete their purchase at ClickBank.

* On this page you will create a ClickBank payment link which the customer will use to complete the purchase with ClickBank.

Check for Compatibility

* Explain what file or format your product is in (not everyone can view Word docs, pdf files, etc)

* Let the customer know if they need a certain operating system, such as Windows XP

* ClickBank customers can be from any country; if your product will only be helpful to people in a certain area, let your customers know ahead of time.

ClickBank’s Return Policy

* ClickBank will only honor it’s own return policy. As of the writing of this article, ClickBank takes the option of replacing or repairing a defective product within 8 weeks from the date of purchase.

* Be careful not use any language on your product pitch page that might cause a conflict; for example, you cannot use the phrases “lifetime guarantee” or “90 day money back guarantee”.

Create the Payment Link:

* If you want ClickBank to sell your product, your customer needs to follow a payment link on your publisher’s Pitch Page. This link will bring the customer to the ClickBank order form. The customer will be able to place their order from there.

* Target your payment link to open in a new window. Your link should written as:

http://ITEM.PUBLISHER.pay.clickbank.net

* To make it work, replace the word PUBLISHER with your account nickname.

* Replace the word ITEM with your product’s product number. Each of your links (products) will be assigned a product number when you set up your account. If this is your first product, the item number is 1.

* Replace the phrase CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE with your choice of promotional text.

Create a Thank You Page

* This is the page where you thank the customer for their purchase.

* If the product is a file for download, such as a pdf file, include a link to it

* Make sure your instructions are very clear, so your customers understand how to view or extract the file

Now that you have completed the above steps, you will need to test the links to see if they work. After that, you will need to request publisher approval. ClickBank will review your product and the work you completed in the above steps. The final step, after you have been approved, is to pay a one-time activation charge of $49.95. Now you are ready to sell your products through ClickBank.
