Websites wayback when

Has your site been around for a while? Several of mine have.. my oldest site began back in 1996, hosted for free by angelfire. Angelfire looks a lot different now, and so do my sites! Since 1996, my sites have all gotten their own homes with a unique .com and comfy paid hosting. But it’s fun to take a stroll back in time now and then and see where it all began. The Wayback Machine allows you to do just that. It’s an extensive Internet Archive site.

Wow, good thing I’ve learned a thing or two about web-design in the last decade. Take a look at my MomsRewards.com site then and now.

And here’s another look back.. this time with my Wahmiam.com site.

Here’s my favorite wayback yet though.. My YeahMom.com site received a major overhaul years back when It went from being a message forum only, to a full fledged website. The site content and design difference is quite dramatic as you can see.

Hope you enjoyed this little look back as much as I did, hehe.. Why not try it yourself? The Wayback Machine will search it’s archives as far back as 1996. While you’re there, you can see how far some of the big commercial sites (like Yahoo, or ebay) have come along in their content and design too.

Browsing Chrome from Google

I’ve been using Google’s Chrome for 2 days now and I have to say, I really like it! I will miss some of Firefox’s handy add-ons, but I enjoy the speed of Google’s new browser. I like the fact that each tab works as an independent application. If a game or site on one tab goes horribly wrong and needs to close (or crash), my other tabs happily continue on with what they are asked to do, without interference. Online applications and downloads run as smooth as silk. I like the thumbnails of my favorite, most visited sites when I open a new tab. I can browse safely and privately and my firefox bookmarks were imported seamlessly.

Zoho Online Office Tools

I’ve been using Google Docs quite a bit lately. It’s convenient and does what I need and I love that I can store/access my documents to view or edit whether I’m at home or work.

Recently though, a friend showed me http://zoho.com/

They have more applications than Google docs and it’s a fast loading, easy to use site. I’m pretty impressed with what I see. I signed up and am giving it a whirl.
